16-Year Packaging Machines With Integrated Printing & Coding

Premade Pouch Packing Machine vs Sachet Packing Machine: Key Differences Explained

A premade pouch packing machine and an automatic sachet packing machine can both measure, fill and seal products, but they prepare the package in completely different ways.

The easiest way to understand the difference is to look at what enters the machine.

A premade pouch machine starts with a finished empty pouch. The pouch has already been manufactured and may already include printing, a stand-up bottom or a zipper.

A sachet packing machine starts with roll film. The film enters the machine, is formed into a bag, filled, sealed and cut during the same packaging process.

In simple terms:

Premade Pouch Machine
Finished Pouch → Pick → Open → Fill → Seal

Automatic Sachet Machine
Roll Film → Form Bag → Measure → Fill → Seal → Cut

This basic difference explains why the two machines have different structures, bag formats and production characteristics.

Premade Pouch Packing Machine vs Sachet Packing Machine: Key Differences Explained 1

1. Finished Pouches vs Roll Film

The premade pouch packing machine uses bags that have already been produced before they enter the machine.

Finished empty pouches are loaded into a bag magazine. During production, the machine picks up one pouch, opens it, fills the product and seals the opening.

The machine does not manufacture the pouch itself.

This allows the packaging supplier to prepare more complex finished bag formats in advance, including stand-up pouches, zipper pouches and other printed premade bags.

The automatic sachet machine works from a roll of flexible packaging material.

Film is pulled from the roll and guided through the bag-forming section. The machine then measures the product, fills the newly formed bag, seals it and cuts the individual sachet.

The machine therefore performs both bag making and product packaging in one continuous process.

Your 1–100g model automatically completes bag making, measuring, filling, sealing, cutting and counting.

2. The Machine Structures Are Different

Because the packaging material is different, the two machines need different mechanical systems.

A premade pouch packing machine needs equipment for handling finished bags. Its important sections include the bag magazine, bag-picking mechanism, pouch-opening system, filling position and final sealing section.

The process is based on controlling one finished pouch at a time.

The sachet machine does not need to pick up or open a finished bag.

Instead, it needs a film roll system and bag former because the package is being created inside the machine.

That gives the two machines a very different working structure:

Machine Function Premade Pouch Machine Automatic Sachet Machine
Uses finished empty bags Yes No
Uses roll film No Yes
Picks individual bags Yes No
Opens pouch before filling Yes No
Forms bag during production No Yes
Measures/fills product Yes Yes
Seals finished package Yes Yes
Cuts sachet from film No Yes

Both machines automate packaging, but the automation happens in different ways.

3. Bag Formats Are Different

Premade pouch machines have more flexibility when the packaging design itself is already complex.

Because the bag is manufactured separately, the customer can use finished pouch structures such as:

  • stand-up pouches;
  • zipper pouches;
  • three-side seal bags;
  • gusseted pouches;
  • back-seal premade bags;
  • eight-side seal bags;
  • selected special-shaped bags.

The packing machine does not have to create those structures. It only has to handle the finished pouch correctly.

The automatic sachet machine produces the package directly from film.

Your 1–100g machine supports flexible packaging material combinations such as BOPP/PE, aluminum/PE, paper/PE and polyester/aluminized/PE.

This makes the packaging process more continuous, but the bag is created according to the machine's forming and sealing structure rather than arriving as a finished premium pouch.

That is an important technical distinction.

It does not mean one packaging style is better than the other.

They are simply two different ways of producing a finished package.

4. Their Packaging Ranges and Speeds Are Not the Same

The two machines you provided also operate in very different package-size ranges.

Premade Pouch Packing Machine

The coffee-bean premade pouch machine is designed around larger finished pouches, with the product page listing:

Filling Range: 10–500g
Packing Speed: 10–20 bags/min
Bag Length: 120–300mm
Bag Width: 100–200mm

Automatic Sachet Packing Machine

The second machine is designed around smaller packages:

Measuring Range: 1–100g
Bag Length: 30–180mm
Bag Width: 20–75mm
Packing Speed: 80–130 bags/min
The speed difference should not be interpreted simply as:

80–130 bags/min is better than 10–20 bags/min.

The premade pouch machine has to pick up, position and open an individual finished pouch before filling and sealing it.

The sachet machine continuously draws film through the forming and sealing system.

They are completing different packaging cycles, so comparing speed alone does not describe the whole difference.

5. The Packaging Material Is Purchased Differently

This is another practical difference that is easy to overlook.

For a premade pouch machine, the customer purchases finished empty bags.

Those bags may already include the brand design, product graphics, zipper or stand-up structure before they arrive at the factory.

The packaging machine handles the completed pouch.

For an automatic sachet machine, the customer purchases roll film.

The film remains in roll form until it enters the machine and is converted into individual sachets during production.

So even before the machines begin running, the packaging supply chain is different:

Premade Pouch Packaging:
Bag supplier → finished pouch → packing machine

Sachet Packaging:
Film supplier → film roll → packing machine → finished sachet

This difference affects not only the machine structure but also how packaging materials are ordered, stored and used during production.

Continuous sachet forming No Yes

The main difference between a premade pouch packing machine and a sachet packing machine is therefore not simply speed, filling range or machine size.

It is the way the package itself is prepared.

One machine receives a finished pouch and automatically opens, fills and seals it.

The other receives roll film and creates each sachet as part of the filling and sealing process.

Once this difference is clear, the different structures, bag formats and production speeds of the two machines become much easier to understand.

A separate question is which packaging method is more suitable for a specific product, bag type and production target. That depends on the actual packaging requirement and is better discussed separately rather than mixing machine differences with machine selection in the same article.
