100g Peanut Vacuum Packaging Line with 3-Head Weighing System and Date Coding

100g Peanut Vacuum Packaging Line with 3-Head Weighing System and Date Coding

Small snack packs may look simple, but producing them consistently requires several processes to work together.

For a 100g peanut package, the production line needs to measure the product accurately, open and position the premade pouch, fill the peanuts, remove excess air, seal the bag and add production information such as the date or batch code.

In this packaging test, INNOV configured a complete solution for 100g peanuts packed in small premade vacuum bags, using a 3-head granule weighing system, premade pouch packaging section, vacuum sealing function and steel-stamp date coding.

The test was carried out with the actual peanuts and printed bags, allowing the complete packaging process to be checked before production.

Project Requirement: 100g Peanuts in Small Premade Bags

The product in this project is shelled peanuts.

Each finished bag contains approximately 100g of product, using a compact premade pouch approximately 9 cm wide and 12 cm long.

For this type of small retail package, several details matter at the same time.

The filling quantity needs to remain stable.

The small pouch must open correctly before filling.

Peanuts should enter the bag without interfering with the sealing area.

Air needs to be removed before final sealing.

The production date also needs to be clearly marked on the package.

Instead of solving these steps separately, the line was configured as one continuous packaging process.

3-Head Weighing System for Accurate Peanut Dosing

The packaging process begins with product measurement.

Peanuts are a free-flowing granular product, making weighing a practical method for portion control.

In this project, a 3-head granule weighing system is installed above the main packing section.

The weighing heads prepare the required quantity before the product is discharged into the pouch.

Using multiple weighing heads helps the dosing process work continuously with the packaging machine rather than relying on manual weighing.

For a 100g retail package, this is especially important because even a small difference in each bag can become significant over a long production run.

The purpose is not simply to make one bag weigh 100g.

The objective is to keep repeated production as stable as possible.

Automatic Premade Pouch Handling

After weighing, the next challenge is the bag itself.

The customer uses a small printed premade pouch rather than roll film formed directly inside the machine.

That means the machine needs to handle an already finished package.

The pouch must be picked, positioned and opened correctly before the peanuts can be discharged.

Once the bag is open, the measured product enters the pouch through the filling section.

For small bags, positioning is particularly important because the opening space is limited.

If the pouch is not opened fully or the product enters the sealing area, the quality of the final seal may be affected.

This is why bag size and actual bag samples should always be confirmed when configuring a premade pouch packaging machine.

Why Vacuum Packaging Is Used for Peanuts

After filling, the bag proceeds to the vacuum packaging section.

Vacuum packaging removes part of the air from inside the pouch before sealing.

For peanut and nut products, this provides several practical benefits.

The finished bag becomes more compact.

The product moves less inside the package.

The package can have a tighter and more consistent appearance.

Reducing excess air also helps protect the product during storage and transportation.

For food manufacturers, vacuum packaging can also support product preservation, although the final shelf life still depends on the food itself, packaging material, storage conditions and production process.

This is an important distinction.

A vacuum machine is part of the packaging solution, but it does not determine shelf life by itself.

Steel-Stamp Date Coding Integrated into the Packaging Process

The finished peanut package also requires variable production information.

In this test, the machine uses a steel-stamp date coding system.

This type of coding can be used to mark information such as:

production date;

batch number;

lot number;

or expiry-related information.

The date coder works together with the packaging process instead of requiring a separate manual printing step after the bag has already been packed.

For small snack packages, this is useful because the available printing area is limited and the coding position needs to remain consistent.

Before production, the coding position should therefore be confirmed according to the bag artwork.

The customer should indicate exactly where the date needs to appear and what information needs to be changed during production.

One Packaging Line, Several Coordinated Processes

The value of this project is not any single component.

It is the way the components work together.

The production sequence can be summarized as:

Peanut feeding
→ 3-head weighing
→ Premade pouch handling
→ Bag opening
→ Product filling
→ Vacuum processing
→ Sealing
→ Steel-stamp date coding
→ Finished bag discharge

Each process affects the next.

If weighing is unstable, the bag weight is inconsistent.

If the pouch does not open correctly, filling cannot proceed normally.

If peanuts remain near the sealing area, the final seal may be affected.

If the coding position is not matched to the bag design, the date may appear in the wrong place.

This is why a packaging project should be evaluated as a complete system rather than as several unrelated machines.

Why Small Bags Require Careful Machine Configuration

A 100g bag may actually require more careful handling than a much larger package.

The bag opening is smaller.

There is less space between the product and sealing area.

The allowable positioning error is also smaller.

In this project, the pouch is approximately 9 × 12 cm.

For bags in this size range, the supplier needs to confirm not only the outer dimensions but also:

the actual opening width;

the sealing margin;

the material thickness;

the bag structure;

the printed area;

and the position reserved for date coding.

A machine that can physically hold a bag is not necessarily correctly configured for that bag.

Actual sample testing is therefore an important step before final production.

Supporting Equipment Can Be Added According to Production Needs

The main packing machine handles the core packaging process, but different factories may need different supporting equipment.

A peanut or nut packaging line may also include:

product feeding equipment;

granule weighing system;

premade pouch packing machine;

vacuum unit;

date coding system;

finished-product conveyor;

checkweigher;

metal detector;

or other inspection equipment.

Not every customer needs every device.

A smaller food producer may require only automatic weighing, bag filling, vacuum sealing and coding.

A larger food factory may want to add weight inspection and metal detection after packaging.

The production line should therefore be configured around the customer's actual process rather than using the same equipment list for every project.

The Same Concept Can Be Used for Other Granular Foods

Although this test was carried out with peanuts, similar packaging concepts can be considered for other granular food products.

Examples include:

cashews;

almonds;

pistachios;

mixed nuts;

sunflower seeds;

pumpkin seeds;

beans;

small snack products;

and selected dried foods.

However, different products have different shapes, densities and flow characteristics.

A 100g portion of peanuts does not occupy the same volume as 100g of sunflower seeds or cashews.

For this reason, the weighing system, pouch size and filling settings should be confirmed using the customer's actual product whenever possible.

What Information Should You Provide for a Similar Project?

If you need a similar premade pouch vacuum packaging line, the most useful information includes:

Product
Peanuts, nuts, seeds or another granular product.

Target weight
For example, 50g, 100g, 250g or 500g.

Bag type
Premade pouch, vacuum pouch or another packaging format.

Bag dimensions
Width and length, including gusset information if applicable.

Bag samples
Actual bags or clear photos showing the opening and sealing area.

Vacuum requirement
Whether the product requires vacuum sealing and the desired finished appearance.

Coding requirement
Production date, batch number or other variable information.

Required capacity
Expected bags per minute or bags per hour.

Additional equipment
Checkweigher, metal detector, feeding system or finished-product conveyor.

With this information, the complete packaging process can be configured more accurately.

From a Packing Machine to a Complete Peanut Packaging Solution

This 100g peanut test shows why packaging equipment should be planned as a production line.

The three-head weighing unit controls product dosing.

The premade pouch machine handles the bag.

The vacuum section removes excess air.

The sealing system completes the package.

The steel-stamp coder adds production information.

Together, these components create a complete packaging workflow for small retail peanut packs.

For manufacturers of peanuts, nuts, seeds and other granular foods, INNOV can configure the packaging machine and supporting equipment according to the actual product, bag, coding requirement and production capacity.

If you are planning a similar project, provide your product sample, target weight, bag dimensions, packaging method and required output so that the complete line can be evaluated before machine configuration.
