16-Year Packaging Machines With Integrated Printing & Coding

From Powder to Potato Chips: INNOV Integrated Feeding and Packing Solution for Food Factories

INNOV integrates automatic feeding, weighing and packaging for coffee powder, milk powder, rice, peanuts, nuts, chips, flakes and other food products.

A food packaging line should not require an operator to stand beside the machine all day simply to keep the hopper full.

This is the idea behind the INNOV integrated feeding and packing solution.

Instead of treating the feeder and packaging machine as two unrelated pieces of equipment, we combine material conveying, measuring, filling and bag sealing according to the customer's product.

This solution can be used for factories packaging fine powders as well as granular and snack products.

Typical materials include coffee powder, milk powder, flour, rice, grains, peanuts, nuts, seeds, chips, cereal flakes and other food products.

The equipment arrangement changes with the material.

The production goal does not.

Raw material enters the feeding section, passes through the appropriate measuring system and finally leaves the line as a finished package.

For Coffee Powder and Milk Powder, Feeding Is Part of the Packaging Process

Fine powder is one of the clearest examples.

A factory may install an automatic powder packing machine but still ask workers to repeatedly lift powder into the upper hopper.

That reduces the benefit of automation.

INNOV's powder packaging solution can combine the packaging machine with a spiral or screw-type feeding system.

Coffee powder, milk powder, flour, spice powder and similar products can be conveyed toward the dosing and packaging section automatically.

The packaging machine then forms the bag, fills the measured product and seals the package.

For a customer producing powder products continuously, the feeder should therefore be considered part of the packing line rather than an optional accessory added afterward.

Rice, Beans and Peanuts Can Use the Same Automated Production Idea

Move from milk powder to rice and the product changes completely.

The production concept still works.

Rice, millet, beans, peanuts, seeds and similar free-flowing products can be automatically supplied to a suitable weighing system and then transferred into the packaging machine.

The important difference is that these materials do not need the same screw-type dosing arrangement used for fine powder.

INNOV can configure the feeding and measuring section according to the product.

This makes the solution suitable for food factories producing products such as:

rice, beans, grains, peanuts, nuts, coffee beans, candy, seeds and other granular foods.

For these factories, automatic feeding can reduce the need to repeatedly move material between separate production stages.

The weighing and packaging machine can become part of one connected line.

Snack Factories Can Also Automate Feeding and Packaging

Snack products create another type of production requirement.

Potato chips and cereal flakes are light and often more fragile than rice or peanuts.

The feeding process therefore needs to move the product without treating it like a dense industrial granule.

INNOV can configure a suitable feeding and weighing arrangement for products such as potato chips, puffed food, cereal flakes, crackers and other snack products before they enter the packaging machine.

This allows snack manufacturers to build a more complete automatic line rather than placing a stand-alone bagging machine at the end of a largely manual process.

For fragile foods, we also want to understand the actual product before confirming the equipment arrangement.

The size, shape and breakage sensitivity of a potato chip can be very different from a nut or grain.

That information helps us determine the appropriate feeding route.

One Supplier for the Feeding and Packaging Section

When a factory purchases the feeder from one supplier, the weighing system from another and the packaging machine from a third, integration becomes another project.

Installation height needs to match.

Material discharge positions need to align.

Production capacity between each section needs to be coordinated.

INNOV's approach is to plan the feeding and packaging section as one system.

Depending on the project, the line may include the feeding unit, weighing or dosing system, bag packaging machine, discharge conveyor and supporting equipment.

Coding equipment can also be added when the finished bag requires a production date, batch information or other variable information.

This type of integration is particularly useful for a new factory because the customer can plan the production area around one complete workflow.

It is also useful when upgrading an existing line where manual loading has become a production bottleneck.

Different Products, Different Configurations

We do not describe this system as one machine that treats every food in exactly the same way.

That would not reflect real production.

A screw feeder that works well with coffee powder is not the configuration we would automatically recommend for potato chips.

A rice line and a puffed-snack line may use different weighing and conveying arrangements.

INNOV's advantage is that these components can be configured around the customer's product while keeping the packaging section integrated into the same production concept.

For example:

Coffee powder / Milk powder / Flour
Automatic screw feeding + powder dosing + bag packaging

Rice / Beans / Seeds / Granules
Automatic lifting + weighing + bag packaging

Peanuts / Nuts / Candy
Automatic feeding + quantitative weighing + bag packaging

Potato chips / Cereal flakes / Puffed snacks
Gentle feeding + weighing + bag packaging

This gives the buyer a clearer solution than simply receiving a quotation for a packaging machine without considering how the material reaches it.

Tell Us What You Want to Pack

For an INNOV feeding and packaging project, the most useful information is the actual product.

We normally want to know what material is being packed, the target weight per bag, the required bag dimensions and the expected production arrangement.

Product photos or samples are especially useful for chips, flakes, powders and irregular products because they allow us to understand the real material rather than relying only on a product name.

INNOV can then configure the feeder, measuring system and packing machine as one production solution.

For manufacturers of powder, rice, peanuts, nuts, granules, chips and other foods, this turns automatic packaging from a single machine into a more complete production process.
