How to Choose a Nicotine Pouch Packaging Machine for Small-Dose Filling and Sealing

A buyer searching for a nicotine pouch packaging machine usually wants to know whether the machine can handle the actual product, not simply how the machine works.

For this type of project, we normally confirm three things first: the filling amount, the finished pouch size, and the packaging material. These three factors directly affect the measuring system, bag forming, sealing and final production speed.

Filling Weight Comes Before Machine Speed

When we receive a nicotine pouch packaging inquiry, we do not start by asking how many bags per minute the customer wants.

We first confirm the target filling amount.

The standard machine uses a volumetric measuring system designed for small granular or powder materials. The published measuring range is 10–40 g or 0.6–33 ml.

If the required filling amount is outside this range, we would not assume that changing a setting on the touch screen is enough. The measuring configuration needs to be checked separately, and customization may be required.

The actual filling material also matters.

Two products with the same target volume may behave differently during feeding. Material density, particle size and flowability can affect the measuring result. If the material does not flow smoothly, the standard configuration may need further evaluation.

This is why an actual material sample is more useful than simply telling us that the product is “powder” or “granules.”

Pouch Size and Packaging Material Need to Be Checked Together

The standard bag-size range is approximately 40–110 mm in length and 30–80 mm in width.

If the customer already has a finished pouch, we prefer to receive the actual dimensions rather than estimate them from a photo.

A few millimeters can affect bag forming, cutting position and final pouch appearance.

The machine is listed for materials such as filter paper, composite film and non-woven fabric, but material names alone are not enough to confirm sealing performance.

Different non-woven materials can have different thicknesses and sealing properties. Filter paper can also vary in structure.

For this reason, we prefer to test the customer’s actual packaging material when possible.

The key question is not simply:

“Can the machine use non-woven fabric?”

The better question is:

“Can this specific material form and seal consistently at the required pouch size?”

That is a more realistic way to select the machine.

30–100 Bags/Min Is a Machine Range, Not One Fixed Production Speed

The published packing speed is 30–100 bags per minute.

This number is useful when comparing machine models, but we would not use 100 bags/min as a guaranteed production output before checking the real product.

The actual running speed can depend on the pouch size, filling amount, packaging material and sealing condition.

A smaller pouch with a suitable flowing material may run differently from a larger pouch using another packaging material.

So when buyers compare two nicotine pouch filling and sealing machines, we recommend asking:

What production speed can the machine achieve with my actual pouch size, filling amount and packaging material?

That question is more useful than comparing only the maximum speed shown in a product specification.

What We Check During Sample Testing

For this type of machine, sample testing is particularly useful when the buyer already has the final product specification.

During testing, we are not only checking whether the machine can produce a pouch.

We mainly look at whether the filling amount is stable enough for the selected measuring configuration, whether the pouch shape is formed correctly, whether the sealing edge is clean, and whether the material runs smoothly through continuous filling and sealing.

We also check whether the finished pouch can be cut consistently without damaging the seal.

If the customer requires printed material, date coding or batch information, these requirements should be confirmed before the final machine configuration is decided.

The product page also lists customization options for bag size, filling weight, printed film, voltage, interface language and coding.

That means the standard machine should be treated as a starting configuration rather than a fixed solution for every project.

When the Standard Configuration May Not Be Suitable

A standard machine is easier to recommend when the customer’s product falls within the published filling and pouch-size range and the packaging material has suitable sealing characteristics.

We become more cautious when the product is outside the normal measuring range, when the material flows poorly, or when the customer uses a special non-woven or filter material.

These cases should be tested before the machine is finalized.

The same applies when a buyer requests the highest production speed.

Increasing speed does not automatically mean better production.

If the sealing time becomes too short or the filling becomes unstable, the maximum speed is not useful in real production.

For us, a stable finished pouch is more important than simply quoting the highest possible number.

What to Send Before Requesting a Final Machine Configuration

For a nicotine pouch packaging machine project, the most useful information is simple:

  • actual filling material or sample;
  • required filling amount per pouch;
  • finished pouch length and width;
  • packaging material;
  • required production speed;
  • whether printed film or batch coding is needed.

If possible, send a finished pouch sample together with the raw material.

With these details, the machine can be selected according to the real product instead of according to a general keyword such as “nicotine pouch machine.”

The standard machine already combines measuring, forming, filling, sealing, cutting and counting in one automatic process. But the final configuration should still be decided according to the actual filling material, pouch size and packaging material.
